Crème` Brulé French Toast
Equipment
- Large Bowl
- Non Stick Pan
- Spatula
- Whisk
- Torch
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Vanilla Brioche Bread sliced into 1 1/2 inch pieces
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
Batter
- 2 Eggs
- 3 tbsp Half and half
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon
Icing
- 1 cup Confectioners sugar
- 5 tbsp Heavy cream
Topping
- 3 tbsp Sugar
Instructions
- Whisk together eggs, half and half, vanilla extract, and cinnamon
- Heat 1 tbsp butter in pan over medium-high heat.
- Coat both sides of bread in batter and transfer them to the pan, careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Once you have a golden brown crust on one side of the bread, flip it over to achieve the same on the remaining sides. Do this until all sides have developed a golden brown outer part.
- In a large bowl, whisk together confectioners sugar along with heavy cream. Add more as needed. Whisk until smooth and lump free.
- Drizzle icing on top of French toast, coat with sugar, and apply the torch to the sugar until burnt. Similar to the top of a crème brulé.
