French Onion Pasta (One Pot Recipe)


French Onion Pasta
Equipment
- 1 Skillet
- 1 Cheese grater
Ingredients
- 2 lbs yellow onions thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp salt and pepper
- ½ lb spaghetti
- 2 cups beef stock
- ½ cup gruyere cheese
- parsley chopped, to garnish
Instructions
- To a skillet on medium-high heat, add olive oil to the skillet. Once hot, add in onions and salt. Stir and cover. Uncover every 5 minutes and stir. Lower heat to medium after first 10 minutes. Halfway through, add in Worcestershire sauce and cook for 40 minutes total or until completely caramelized.
- To the same skillet, add in spaghetti, beef stock, butter. Cover and cook for 8 minutes.
- Uncover, check doneness of pasta and stir ! (Similar to how you would making risotto). Add in cheese and stir until combined.
- Top with more Gruyere cheese and parsley. Serve immediately
