Honey Jerk Chicken Wings
Honey jerk chicken wings are a perfect blend of spicy jerk seasoning and sweet honey glaze, creating a delicious balance of heat and sweetness.
- 10 whole chicken wings separated at the joint
- 3 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1½ tbsp all purpose seasoning
- 1½ tbsp garlic powder
- 1½ tbsp onion powder
- 1½ tbsp smoked paprika
- 1½ tbsp black pepper
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- Oil for frying
Honey Jerk Glaze
- ½ stick unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp jerk seasoning
- ¼ cup honey
To a bowl, season your clean and dry chicken with yellow mustard, and one tbsp of each - all purpose seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
To a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Whisk to combine.
One by one, dredge the chicken wings in the flour/cornstarch mix and shake off any excess. Lay on a rack for 5-10 minutes to allow the coating to stick to the chicken. (this creates the extra nooks and crannies in crispy chicken)
Heat your oil to 350℉ and fry wings until golden, this should take about 7-8 minutes.
Honey Jerk Glaze
To a sauce pan, melt the butter. Add in jerk seasoning and honey. Whisk until combined and sauce is thick and glaze-like.
Toss wings in sauce and enjoy !
